동격의 that

 

 

1. 하나의 완전한 문장은 그 문장 앞에 that을 쓰면 명사로 바꿀 수 있습니다.

 

He was badly injured. (문장)

⇒ that he was badly injured (문장이 명사로 바뀜)

 

 

2. 명사로 바뀌면 ‘주어, 목적어, 보어, 동격'의 역할을 할 수 있습니다.

 

1. 주어: That he was badly injured is a pity.  (~라는 것은)

2. 보어: The truth is that he was badly injured. (~라는 것이다)

3. 목적어: I know that he was badly injured. (~라는 것을)

4. 동격: I heard the news that he was badly injured. (~라는)

 

 

3. 동격은 앞의 명사를 설명하는 표현으로, 'N that S+V ~'의 형태를 취합니다.

 

 

4. 보통 ‘~라는 N'로 해석하지만, 형용사가 아닙니다. 명사입니다.

 

 

5. 다음은 동격의 that을 취하는 명사들입니다.
